Principal Accountabilities:
* Operational/Technical/Professional Results
*
* Carry out risk based audits of relevant business processes aimed at providing assurance that there is an acceptable balance of controls and risk, identifying any control weaknesses that would inhibit achievement of business objectives and agreeing corrective action plans that would to correct identified weaknesses
* To provide written reports on control weaknesses and recommended actions that will be submitted to the area and regional audit committee in order to ensure the regional audit committee is in a position to optimise its contribution to the business.
* Perform investigations as requested by functional management towards determining the occurrence or otherwise of fraudulent activity and culpability.

* To develop self and the audit team through training, learning and development opportunities in both audit and the business in general. To provide leadership to the audit team thus ensuring, so far as possible, they become an effective team.

* To monitor the implementation of the agreed action plans resulting from audits conducted and report to the Group management via the audit committee in order to ensure that identified improvement opportunities in the internal control system are effected.
* To assist the area head of audit in ensuring the effectiveness of the area audit committee meetings by being pro-actively involved in the preparation of the agenda, sitting in on the meeting and taking minutes, assisting with providing information as required, standing in for the Head of audit (the secretary) in his/her absence and providing advice on how to improve the effectiveness of the local audit committee.

* To provide formal and informal training to BATN’s management and staff to raise their awareness of risk and control.
* To provide support to functional management by participating in functional (other functions) and cross-functional projects and performing ad-hoc assignments all aimed at improving the business processes

* Continually reviewing business processes with a view towards increasing their effectiveness and efficiency via business improvement methodologies (supporting continuous improvement in business processes).
* Ensuring the delivery of audit services in a customer friendly way by using technology in enhancing service delivery.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:


* Knowledge/Experience
*
* A professionally qualified accountant with at least 4 years post qualification/audit experience and familiar with the FMCG industry,
*
* Skills
*
* Ability to communicate effectively with a wide internal audience from OpCo General Manager downwards.
* Spoken and written English of a very high standard.
* A good understanding of the use and application of IT and a thorough knowledge of the related control and security standards.
* Capacity to adapt behaviour to cope with significantly different environments and culture.
* Strong creative thinking, communication and influencing skills.
* A professional manner that will reflect positively on Internal Audit in the OpCo
* A self-starter who is capable of working with minimal supervision
